Across our neighborhoods, there are families, veterans, seniors, and individuals starting anew. After overcoming the homeless experience, now they face the daunting task of furnishing their new homes with all the basic necessities to live on their own:

  • A mattress for a restful night’s sleep
  • Kitchen utensils to cook a healthy meal
  • Bedsheets, towels, hygiene and household products to keep a clean space
  • And more to care for themselves and their new home

These items and more are essential for someone just starting out a new life after experiencing homelessness, but setting up a new home—a new life—is an additional expense and burden. We believe that everyone deserves the dignity of a well-equipped home, and YOU can help make that a reality by providing Housewarming Boxes.

What Is a Housewarming Box?

How to Pack Your Housewarming Box

To ensure your box makes it safely into the new home of someone in need, be sure to pack your box properly.

  • All items from the Shopping List (except boxes of diapers and wipes) must fit inside an 20-30 gallon plastic storage tote and be fitted with a lid.
  • Prop up all liquid items at the bottom to prevent spilling.
  • Select items to include from the Optional list only based upon available space after all the required items are packed.
  • Label your box “Housewarming Box” with masking tape or an adhesive label.
