Scott O’Sullivan
Scott’s firm, O’Sullivan Law, is the lead sponsor for Rockin’ Rescue Night Out, a beneficiary event for the Mission hosted every December for the past 17 years.
Why is it important for you to get involved during the holidays?
It’s a really tough time, especially for families who are struggling, maybe living in their car and trying to figure out how to have a normal life for their children. At your local community level, you can really make a change. I think that’s why Rockin’ Rescue Night Out has grown year over year, because people are like, ‘Oh, yeah, this does make a difference.’ The Mission is making a real impact and needs your help, whether you have the time, the money or both.
Do you have any favorite memories from your involvement with us?
My boys, through school, had one of their days of community service with the Mission. My youngest was deeply affected by his experience, and as a result, he always will find a way to give, whether it’s clothing or a blanket, to somebody he encounters who is unhoused. I’m just so glad that he now has this desire to try to make a difference.
What inspired you/O’Sullivan Law to get involved with the Mission?
My mom was very philanthropic, and I was “volunteered” to do a lot of things as a little kid. That clearly rubbed off! It started with my firm doing sponsorships like Rockin’ Rescue and me being the emcee. Everything we raise goes directly to Denver Rescue Mission. This past year, we raised over $53,000. It’s shocking how much bigger it gets every single year.
