While it may be hot outside today, temperatures will be cooling down soon which is why we are so thankful for the partnership of Sackcloth & Ashes and KB Home to donate 1,000 blankets to the 48th Avenue Center. Blankets were passed out during lunch service on Thursday, September 1 to each guest with remaining blankets being given to guests throughout the Mission.
A Strong Partnership
Sackcloth & Ashes manufactures blankets made of 75 to 100 percent recyclable materials and each year donates over one million blankets to over 600 homeless shelters nationwide. This is the second time Sackcloth & Ashes has donated blankets to the Denver Rescue Mission. Their first visit to the Mile High City came in 2019.
KB Home is one of the largest and most recognized homebuilders in the United States and operates in 47 markets coast to coast. “At KB Home we’re all about relationships” said Randy Carpenter, Division President at KB Home. “We partner with Sackcloth & Ashes to provide two blankets: one to the homeowner and one to a homeless shelter like Denver Rescue Mission. We think that it is important work for the people in our community and we are honored to be a part of it”.
