Here at DRM, we believe that every person deserves dignity, hope, and the chance for a fresh start.
“Our why at Denver Rescue Mission is simply because we are followers of Jesus and believe we should do what He said to do, try to live the way He lived on earth and follow scripture. In Matthew 25, Jesus says that in some very mysterious way when we feed the hungry, give the thirsty something to drink, invite the stranger in, give clothes to those in need, care for the sick, and visit those in prison, we are doing that for Him.
Jesus is clear that we have a choice. We can choose to find a reason not to help someone or we can help them. Whichever choice we make, we are in some way choosing how we serve Jesus. I cannot think of a better reason for Denver Rescue Mission to exist.
Dennis Van Kampen, President/CEO
You have the opportunity to help offer those second chances often in the form of a conversation, a meal, a bed, a listening ear, or simply a moment of quiet. And behind each of those moments is someone like you.
We’re looking for compassionate people to join our front line — people who feel the tug of something deeper. If that’s you, we want you to know: at DRM it is more than a job. It’s a calling.
Our Christ-Centered Approach

In an ever-changing world, Christ has always been at the center of our work. Our Christ-Centered Approach focuses on four key areas:
Engage Mercifully
Loving our neighbor as ourselves, without judgement.
Work Holistically
Recognizing that we are complex beings who require complex solutions (biological, psychological, social, and spiritual).
Speak Truthfully
Speaking hard truths: first to ourselves and then into the lives of the people we serve and systems we engage within.
Believe in Miracles
Believing that all lasting growth and healing depends upon the miraculous work of God.
Find Your Purpose, Help Change Lives
Working on the front lines of homelessness in Denver isn’t easy. It’s real and raw. But it’s also deeply meaningful. Every day, you’ll meet people in the hardest chapters of their lives — and you’ll have the chance to help them turn the page.
And you’ll walk away knowing that you mattered — that your presence made a difference.
“That’s why I work here—to see the changes in people. This has become my mission to see these guys moving forward.”
Harold, Receiving & Distribution Supervisor
