Many years ago, pastor Mike Breaux wrote a book titled Making Ripples. This book had a tremendous impact on my life. He uses the visual of doing a cannonball when jumping into a pool. The ripples keep going, back and forth; they are unstoppable, and they last well beyond the initial splash of the cannonball.
Breaux writes, “Deep down, I think all of us sense God put us on this planet to do something significant—to touch someone’s life, to do some good.” Again and again, he’s seen the cannonball approach make that happen. “Water goes flying everywhere! The ripples go out, hit the side, and come back in…they just keep going and going, long after you made your initial splash.”
In this newsletter you will see the impact of ripples and each of us doing something significant to touch someone’s life. When you donate a car to DRM or donate money or volunteer, you are doing a cannonball into the pool. You are making ripples that will go on and on. You are touching someone’s life and doing good.

Think about the ripples when someone donates a car. A graduate of one of our programs gets that car and now they are able to get to work. Ripples. They may reunite with their family. Ripples. They can drive to a church of their choosing. Ripples. They have dignity and some more control over their lives. Ripples. The same impact happens when you donate money or volunteer.
Every monetary donation matters. Every car donation matters. Every hour of volunteerism matters. They are cannonball splashes that create ripples far beyond what we can imagine. I want to thank you for supporting our ministry. We simply could not do this work without you. Thank you for making ripples. Many years ago, a Christian musician wrote a song called “Thank You.” Some of the lyrics include, “Thank you for giving to the Lord. I am a life that was changed.”
Thank you for making ripples and giving to the Lord so lives can be changed.
