Sportsman Channel is celebrating its 15th year of Hunt.Fish.Feed., a unique outreach program that taps into an underutilized food source – game meat – to feed those struggling with hunger across the country. The program has served nearly 40,000 meals in communities including Denver, Detroit, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, New Orleans, and New York. This year, Sportsman Channel partnered with the Mission to serve a meal for our program participants at The Crossing!
John McGannon, a prominent wild game chef and the founder of WildEats, along with his staff of volunteers came to help host the event. They prepared and served roughly 100 meals for our New Life Program and transitional program participants which included BBQ American bison hoagies, bacon and rosemary red potato salad, fresh spring fruit salad, as well as dessert.
We are very grateful for the Sportsman Channel along with the avid hunters and anglers who make this program possible and work to bring awareness to the fight against hunger. We appreciate everyone who offered their resources and services to treat our program participants to this delicious meal!
