Denver Rescue Mission was excited to host the University of Colorado football team at its 48th Avenue location on Monday morning.
It is the second consecutive year the football team made the trek from Boulder to the Mile High City to serve guests of the Mission.
During their time volunteering, the team and staff handed out food and winter weather apparel to each of the men who use the Mission’s services at its north Denver location.
In addition, many of guests were able to spend time interacting with players and staff during the two-hour experience.
“This is all about giving back. And they are inspiring us as much as we are inspiring them,” Buffalo linebacker Jeremiah Brown said. “We can bond as a team because some of us on the team go through similar struggles as the men who use this shelter.”
On a nightly basis, the 48th Avenue location provides shelter to 513 men.
