Happy Thanksgiving from Denver Rescue Mission! In the spirit of gratitude, we extend warm wishes to you and invite you to join us in seeing how we helped our community in this season of thanks and giving back!

Your steadfast commitment as devoted members of this community have been a game-changer in our efforts to provide sustenance and companionship to those in need. The Mission has reached this point thanks to your continuous support and generous donations. We feel immense gratitude for the faithful collaboration that allows us to extend a helping hand to our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

2023 Turkey Drive

Each year, in tandem with donors and volunteers like yourself, we come together to gather thousands of turkeys, extending a helping hand to those in need during the holiday season. Our Thanksgiving Banquet-in-a-Box event is just one facet; these turkeys also bring comfort and hope through meals throughout the festive period.

Collaborating with various churches, schools and nonprofits across the city, we aim to ensure that a Thanksgiving meal graces the tables of many. Your generosity, with over 15,000 turkeys contributed this year, plays a pivotal role in empowering individuals and families at the Mission to transform their lives. Your support, a testament to the strength of community, makes our mission of lifting people out of homelessness and into self-sufficiency not only possible but impactful.

Your Thanksgiving donations and support enable us to help individuals and families at the Mission change their lives. Working together as a community has made our mission of bringing people out of homelessness and into self-sufficiency feasible.

Fundraisers Change Lives

Seize the opportunity to amplify your impact on our mission at the Mission. A distinctive aspect of our Turkey Drive is the chance for supporters, such as yourself, to initiate your own fundraising efforts, rallying support from friends and family to contribute to our cause.

This year, Fundraisers and their supporters raised more than $7,800 for the Turkey Drive!

Thanksgiving Banquet-in-a-Box

Under the clear skies of this year’s Thanksgiving Banquet-in-a-Box, we extended the warmth of the season to individuals and families facing challenges. Hosted at Empower Field at Mile High on Tuesday, November 21, the event ensured that everyone departed with smiles, a turkey and a box filled with traditional Thanksgiving feast essentials. More than 3,000 Thanksgiving boxes were distributed, spreading joy and nourishment throughout the community.

We could not have done any of this without your donations and support, for which we are grateful!

“It is just really cool to be a part of this and how big of an impact this has on the community. These people that I work for who haven’t been able to have a thanksgiving in years and being able to give that to them and see their faces is the best thing in the world!”

Isabella, Thanksgiving Banquet-in-a-Box Volunteer

Full Tables, Full Hearts

Thanksgiving poses unique challenges for our neighbors grappling with homelessness, navigating harsh Colorado weather while seeking sustenance for themselves and their families. It’s our responsibility to ensure that those facing homelessness can enjoy a warm Thanksgiving dinner, despite these difficult circumstances.

Our Thanksgiving banquets at the Lawrence Street Community Center, 48th Avenue Center, and The Crossing were tailored to accommodate men, women and families experiencing homelessness. With the culinary expertise of our dedicated team, attendees indulged in a feast featuring classic Thanksgiving fare such as turkey, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, and so many more mouth-watering dishes.

Thanks to the generosity of donors like yourself, we successfully provided over 1,200 Thanksgiving meals, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.

Thank you to Our Volunteers for Serving With Us

“I like the services provided by Denver Rescue Mission. I was lost out here on the streets for a couple of weeks and I didn’t have anywhere to go and had hurt myself. Then I found the Mission and they have been feeding me and taking care of me. I am grateful for the Mission, the volunteers, and all of the workers. It is a great work that they are doing, and I hope they keep up the good work and I am thankful for this Thanksgiving meal they gave us.”

Deonte, 48th Shelter Guest

This Thanksgiving, your generosity has gone beyond providing a warm meal; it’s been a source of newfound smiles and renewed hope for those who needed it most. Your support has played a crucial role in our mission to bring transformative change in the name of Christ. Our gratitude knows no bounds, and we feel blessed to have your unwavering support.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
