Three cheers for carnival games, bouncy houses, a dunk tank, amazing food, and fun in the sun! Denver Rescue Mission had an amazing time celebrating the last few weeks of summer and the beginning of the school year with families and students in our STAR Transitional Program at our Back To School party.
The afternoon heat was no match for the fun our community had! The playground was transformed into a carnival for the afternoon with yard games lining the basketball court, bouncy houses with water slides galore, and food that left your taste buds wanting more.
One of our favorite things about this celebration is the backpack handout! From green to gray to neon colors, we are able to provide unique and fun bags stuffed with supplies for the elementary, middle and high school students we serve at The Crossing. It is such a blessing to see the happiness and love in our community after the giveaway.
The Mission is counting down the days until our celebration next year. We are so happy to celebrate the beginning of another school year and fostering a loving community for the younger generations we serve at The Crossing. We are wishing all of our students the best of luck this next school year.
