We're All In This Together

Brad Meuli, President/CEO recently shared this famous quote with all Mission employees:

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” To this day, especially in times of “disaster,” I remember my mother’s words, and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers-so many caring people in this world.”

There’s a lot of uncertainty right now, making our daily lives feel scary and discomforting. But, within this uncertainty there’s one thing we know as a Mission family and community―we’re all in this together.

The amount of kindness and support the community has shown the Mission falls nothing short of a reflection of God’s love for each of us. We’ve had people step up from all walks of life to support us, from teachers and students to big businesses and the local BBQ place down the street. They are all leaning in and helping the helpers. And, it is incredible.

They’ve all come from different backgrounds. They are all going through their own personal challenges right now. And despite all of this, they are reaching out and helping us serve our neighbors experiencing homelessness. We are blessed and beyond grateful.

To the people who have helped us serve meals. Thank you.

To our donors who are sending in checks, words of affirmation and support. Thank you.

To the restaurants that have temporarily closed their doors to the public and are donating their perishable food to us. Thank you.

To every person who has supported us the past 128 years as we have served people experiencing homelessness. Thank you.

To God who continues to give us unwavering strength and courage in this uncertainty. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
