Fall is quickly approaching. That means crisp air, orange and yellow trees, crunchy leaves, pumpkins, and pumpkin spice flavored everything. The new season can bring a gratifying freshness to our lives.

For me, fall is the start of our busiest time of year for fundraising, events and more here at Denver Rescue Mission. It also means, time for the Harvest Farm Fall Festival.

Harvest Farm is a special place. It’s one of the Mission’s facilities that offers rehabilitation for men experiencing homelessness and poverty. The 100-acre Farm has a peace that I just can’t explain. Starting October 4, you can experience what I’m talking about. You’ll feel it too.

For the past 17 years, we’ve opened up Harvest Farm to the community for our annual Fall Festival. From the corn maze to the petting zoo, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy at the Farm.

I’ve had the pleasure of helping prepare promotional materials for the event during my employment at the Mission. Now that I have kids of my own, I get to experience the festival with them on a whole new level.

The best part of it all is that the event directly benefits men participating in the New Life Program at the Farm. So, gather your friends and family and join us at Harvest Farm next month. You won’t regret it!
