About Us

Since 1892, the Denver Rescue Mission has served the poor and homeless through emergency services, rehabilitation, transitional housing and outreach.  In 2006 Champ Bailey, Denver Broncos cornerback, partnered with Glacéau vitaminwater© and the Denver Rescue Mission to create Champ’s Vitaminwater Volunteers.  This program is for youth, ages 13-23, who are committed to volunteering at the Denver Rescue Mission to serve the hurting, hungry and homeless.

Champ Bailey volunteers monthly at The Crossing, Denver Rescue Mission’s facility that houses families in transition, among other programs.  “Volunteering with these kids has touched my heart.  I love hanging out with them, doing projects and activities.  They’re just great kids and they deserve a life without poverty,” said Bailey.

Champ’s Vitaminwater Volunteers can serve at any one of the Denver Rescue Mission’s five facilities, or by organizing drives for food, clothing, or other needed items.  Volunteers are vital to the success of the Denver Rescue Mission.  Last year alone volunteers gave over 100,000 hours of their time to the Denver Rescue Mission. “It’s important that we get today’s youth involved in issues of homelessness and poverty.  They have a heart for working with the homeless and we love the enthusiasm they bring to the Denver Rescue Mission,” said Brad Meuli, President/C.E.O. of the Denver Rescue Mission.
