Overview:
The Social Work internship is for college-age men and women seeking a career
or ministry in this field. Participants will develop skills in case
management, program administration, while serving
the urban poor (through our community outreach program) and working
homeless families (through our Family Rescue Ministry outreach).
Program Description:
The majority of Social Work internship hours will be in case management
at Champa House, or The Crossing.
Depending on the program, the intern may also be assigned mentoring,
counseling, church relations, program development projects, Educational
and Life Skills teaching, or other support services. Hours worked per
week and duration of assignment are negotiable.
Activities/Assignments:

Interview, assess and screen program candidates (individuals or families)
- Develop and maintain a personal clientele file
- Intake, maintain services, and conclude an assigned caseload
- Provide services and apply skills/gifts to meet client needs
- Maintain contact and follow-up with current and past clients
- Refer to and cooperate with other service provider agencies and ministries
- Organize special events for clients and/or staff
- Help facilitate and train residents in the Life Skills classes
- Assist with program development projects
- Perform assigned administrative duties

For Full-time Interns only:
- Room and board provided
- Computer and Internet access
- $150 monthly stipend
- $250 monthly tuition reimbursement
